November 2-15

In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 29 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Nether Providence Township, Ridley Park, and Rose Valley. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory emergency, abdominal pain, hemorrhaging, an unconscious person, and a change in mental status.  

In addition, the fire company responded to: 

• Two automatic fire alarms.

• Three automobile alarms.

• Four hazmat alarms.

• One wire alarm, at the corner of Park and Dartmouth avenues in Swarthmore, for a transformer with visible smoke and flames.

• Seven mutual aid calls to Morton, Springfield Township, and Nether Providence Township.

• Three other alarms, including one to rescue a child stuck in a swing in Nether Providence Township, one for a chemical odor on the 400 block of Rutgers Avenue in Swarthmore, and one for what sounded like a loud explosion in Morton.
